100% Pure Cosmetic Review
On Bold Pearls and throughout social media, I’ve been talking about how going organic has been a shift in my lifestyle. It’s something that I’ve grown passionate about and integrating into my daily life more and more. It can seem overwhelming, but I promise it doesn’t have to be and you can start small. Read this post on how I started making the switch.
One of the first areas I began to alter was my makeup. As I ran out of my products, I bought organic items and tested out their quality. Some I admit, were not the greatest. Mainly, foundations. I have oily skin, and a blotchy skin tone on my face so having great coverage was a must. I landed on the company 100% Pure doing some research on organic products, and decided to try their foundation. I got it, tried it, and LOVED IT! Since, I’ve become hooked to a whole litany of their products and wanted to share what I’ve been using.
If you’re a makeup wearing girl, I’d venture to say that you wear it EVERY SINGLE DAY. So if going organic is of any interest to you, this is a perfect (and simple) way to start that would make a great impact on your health. Our skin is a large organ, and absorbs ALL THE THINGS it comes in contact with. The toxins that are in our makeups and other cosmetic products are truly astonishing! Over on the Things I’m Lovin’ page, I discuss some tools you can use to check the toxic chemicals in the products you use, so be sure to check that out as well. Just a couple days ago, I read an article that discussed a recent study finding asbestos in our cosmetic products! I mean nobody can dispute the direct link asbestos has to cancer. It’s REALLY SCARY when you start peeling back the layers of the beauty industry onion. Thus, I’ll get back to sharing the products I’m finding that are comparable in function BUT ARE MUCH SAFER!
Below is a list of the products I now use on the reg and some more deets about each of them. All of these are from 100% Pure , so as not to overwhelm you with a bunch of different options (I plan to do more review posts on other things I’m using as well, be on the lookout!). I have not only noticed a great difference in the health of my skin, but my complexion is much more even and I don’t feel bad going “naked” even, which has never really felt like an option to me before.
(Side Note: A tip I’ve learned is to do your own research so that you are comfortable and learning along the way. It helps to see for yourself the ingredients and what they are because this kind of knowledge builds on itself. 🙂 )
Without further ado, check out what I’m using:
This foundation is AMAZING! It provides great coverage, I would say medium coverage. It’s not super thick or watery. The sand pigment matches my skin well I feel like. The price point I’d say is above average if you’re considering drugstore brands in the mix , BUT I got it in February and I’ve still have approx a month left.
This toner has helped my complexion so much. I use it in the morning after I wash my face. It smells great as a bonus, and my skin tone is way more even. My pores are smaller and my skin looks refreshed. Try it!
I love coffee, and this product doesn’t disappoint. It helps reduce the bags under your eyes and the fine lines. It smells like coffee, and I’ve increased my use of it since I’ve not been sleeping well lately. It also helps with dark circles, which has been a great benefit for me because naturally my skin under my eyes has a darker pigmentation. Love!
This lipstick is SO PRETTY! It’s the perfect pop of color without being like “Whoa, lips!”. It’s made with cocoa butter, shea butter and Vitamin E, and always leaves my lips feeling hydrated. Other vibrant/matte lipsticks leave my lips dry or cracked looking, not this. It’s great! No matter how long I have it on for, I can rub my lips together and feel the moisturizer. It’s pigmented with fruits and has all organic ingredients (just like the rest of 100% Pure products), which puts my mind at ease considering what’s on my lips will undoubtedly make it into my body.
This mascara is BOMB! Most other mascaras cause my eyes to water, and lashes to fall out. This does not! I literally have not lost any lashes since using this product, even when I wash and rub my face at night with my face cloth. PLUS, PLUS, PLUS, my lashes are now fuller and longer. With the natural conditioner ingredients, my lashes are super healthy and shiny. These are also pigmented with fruit, so they smell great too!
So I have to be honest and say that I’ve never used BB Cream before this one. I got it to try because it has the SPF in it and it has a shimmer to boast that highlighted appearance. For me, it’s too thick. I’ve really just been using it has highlighter and on places where I tend to get sun on my face when outdoors. For those things, it’s been perfect. If you would like the SPF and are used to BB Cream, give it a try!
I really like using highlighters. So when they came out with this luminizer, I knew I wanted it and was not disappointed. It works impeccably, and is lightweight so it doesn’t give me a cakey-appearance. It doesn’t contain talc, like most powders and eye shadows, which is AWESOME because talc has been linked to various health issues, like cancer. If you like the highlighted look, you HAVE TO GET THIS!
Like I mentioned, my skin has some unevenness, and under my eyes are darker. Plus, I get breakouts every now and then around my monthly visitor (know whatta mean). So I like to use concealer we I need it. This concealer works just as well as any others I’ve used, the only negative is the amount. I don’t feel like it lasts very long and I try not to use very much, but still have to use enough to get the job done.
If you noticed, I do not have any eye shadow or eye liner listed, and that’s just because my original products are not empty yet. I’m making the switch to organic, but can’t waste stuff in the process. I will be trying those items out as I run out of what I have.
I hope this info has peeked your interest enough to give some of these products a try. I have purchased all of these items myself, and all of these opinions are my own. I’ve become a raving fan of 100% Pure’s products and feel fine about having makeup on all day, every day with little concern to the toxins leaching into my skin.
If you try their products, PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS of what you think about them as well and other things you’ve tried. Can’t wait to hear about how much you enjoy these products too!
