Pain and grief, jealousy and bitterness, vengeance and anger are all part of the human condition. As a Christian, sometimes we can believe that we shouldn’t have these feelings. But in the Bible, emotions are part of the story. All of these emotions are the reason for Jesus coming to save us. Our emotions are the precipice of all our actions, and so living in a fallen world with sinful characteristics…we fall to our flesh.
Our emotions cause us to stumble, develop pride, live in bitterness and resentment, live with a depressed attitude and the list goes on.
But we aren’t meant to stay subservient to our flesh or negative feelings
Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
